Leonie Licht studied Protestant theology at Gutenberg University Mainz, sculpture at Mainz Academy of Fine Arts, aesthetics at Goethe University Frankfurt, and in the programme Master for Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Since 2019, she has been working on her doctoral thesis entitled Thinking Heaven. Beyond the Limit to the Ground, supervised by Prof. Dr. Helmut Draxler at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Leonie Licht is particularly interested in the cultural history of the sky, intercultural form thinking, and the relationship between political theory and aesthetics. In her artistic work, she also questions concepts of image and painting and explores various forms of visualising the sky.
